Which Countries Are Eligible for the Free Visa?
This exciting new fee waiver applies to travelers from across the globe. If you hold a passport from one of the qualifying nations, you will receive a 30-day tourist visa completely free of charge.
- European Nations:
Travelers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Belarus, Russia, and Turkey can all take advantage of this offer. - Other Global Destinations:
The free visa list also includes visitors from the United States, China, Thailand, and Indonesia. They join travelers from Singapore, the Maldives, and the Seychelles, who already enjoyed visa-free travel to the island.
How to Claim Your Free Sri Lanka Visa
While the visa itself is now free, you cannot just arrive at the airport without paperwork.
You must still apply for your Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before you fly. The online system will process your application without charging the standard fee.
Note: This new rule began on May 25. If you applied and paid for your Sri Lanka ETA before this date, the government will not issue refunds for past payments.
