Tunisia’s 1982 Internationally Designated World Heritage Site of Archaeological Monuments and Sites has been applied today (18). Natural or man-made places and areas that can be considered world heritage sites to be preserved for the future are declared as world heritage sites by the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO. So far, eight places in Sri Lanka have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
